The Eight Bells isn't a chain pub — and we don't want it to feel like one.
Since taking over The Eight Bells, Jodie, George and the team have worked hard to create a proper local pub, somewhere people can eat well, enjoy a drink, listen to live music, celebrate life's big occasions or simply pop in and feel at home.
We've made plenty of changes along the way, but we've always wanted to keep the character and heart of a traditional pub.
Today you'll find a cosy fireplace, comfortable dining areas, a lively bar, our music room and a rear garden — with accessible facilities and a warm welcome throughout.
Food has become a big part of the next chapter at the Bells. Our menus combine traditional pub favourites with relaxed lunches, steaks, burgers and our increasingly popular Sunday roasts.
We're also proud to have been recognised with Best Community Commitment 2025 and to hold a 5-star food hygiene rating.
But awards aren't what make a pub. People do.
Our regulars, our team, local groups, musicians, charities, families, dogs and the people who walk through our door for the first time are what make The Eight Bells what it is.
